Week 65: Missionary Work: Sharing What Is in Your Heart"

Here are some photos of "Missionary Work: Sharing What Is in Your Heart.”  (Elder Uchtdorf April 2019.)
Sister Yari sits below a message on the wall of her home  “never give up”.  She served a full time mission in Indonesia, a mother of two children and a widow who loves God with all her heart. She is learning to draw close to God.  Others notice there is something unique about her.

As we fill our heart with love for others we see everyone around us as a child of God. We respect others. We weep with others and have compassion.

Strive to emulate the love of Christ and strengthen others. These little girls lost their father recently.

Learn about Christ’s ways. Strive to deepen a personal commitment.   Development:  ”For the Strength of Youth” June  24-29th 2019 Indonesia.  Leah and Devia are shown in this pull up banner.   As young people grow in confidence  (Yvonne with Sister Miller,)  from opportunities such as  FSY they will gain tools and skills so they can communicate and develop the ability to talk to others and share what is in their hearts.

Don’t give up!   Rejoice with others ( Sister Miler and Johathan))  Missionaries share from their hearts with others. We keep trying to get it right!  One day Sister Miller and Sister Brush  got "matching" “right” without much trying!

There is much to do, where ever we are on this earth.  There are plenty of opportunities to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with people we live with or work and socialize with.  The Lord has never required expert, flawless missionary efforts.  The Lord "requireth the heart and a willing mind”.  Elder Miller…. its OK you forgot to change your shoes ha ha ha!

Missionary work respects and strengthens others. Here we support a Javanese “remembrance” of a family member that “passed” but with deep humility Sister Miller just could not get the courage when asked to eat the  “goat organ soup”!
Missionaries teach line upon line and little by little.

We sincerely continue from our hearts to invite Sister Sri and Ira to “come and see” His church.
We are recognized in Indonesia by our tags as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where ever we go. We must live consistent with our beliefs and love our neighbors and respect them. We remember there are roughly seven and a half billion people in the world and a small flock of 16 million members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (See Brock, Daegen and Pierce)

Week 64: SHARING OUR GIFTS AND TALENTS

Our Heavenly Father blesses each of his children with different talents and different gifts.  Our challenge is to recognize, develop and share our unique talents with others.  We also need to remember to express gratitude for all of our blessings and know how merciful the Lord is in each of our very individual lives and unique circumstances. Elder Miller enjoys recognizing the talents of the young missionaries we serve with and likes to help them see their unique strengths and learn how these gifts can bless the lives of others.

A special lifelong friendship has developed between the talented artist J. Christanto and Elder and Sister Miller. We recently attended the Visual Art Exhibition Per LaWanan 1-5 April 2019 Galeri Seni Rupa Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah.
Christanto April 1, 2019 (age 37) one of 5 guest painters (The middle painter is a “live art form”; not a statue!)
The painting on the left is titled “United” (J Christanto 2019). The described style Christanto writes is “ ‘expressionism’ abstract size 100cm x 150 cm material oil and acrylic on canvas.”  Christanto is seen here with students from the campus of UNS.  The painting on the right is titled  “Power of Hungry” (J Christanto 2019)  (multiple mix mask, Acrylic)

Week 63: Will you Prepare to receive temple ordinances? Family History Work

Elder Miller and I spend many hours carrying messages to the hearts of the people we teach.  We testify of the truthfulness of the message of the restoration and through the gift of the spirit help discern the needs of the members we are teaching. We teach often to receive temple ordinances.

“God has commanded His people to build temples. In the temple we make sacred covenants and are endowed or given a gift of power and knowledge from on high. This power helps us in our daily lives and enables us to build God’s kingdom.'

In the temple we can also be married for time and eternity, thus making it possible for families to be together forever in God’s presence.  Newlyweds Dian and Agus will travel with us at the end of April to be married for eternity.  The Presetyo family with four daughters will be sealed for eternity in Manila.
The Budi Waluyo family, Elder Nelson and Elder Zebua  we made paper chains to learn about being sealed together as an eternal family.

Deceased persons living in the spirit world have the opportunity to accept or reject the gospel and the ordinances performed in their behalf.” “ For this reason, Church members search for information about their ancestors.” Sister Wiji Lestari’s husband and daughter in her early twenties both passed away in a week of time 2 years ago.

Week 62: Dedicatory Prayer for the Land of Indonesia in 1969

In 1969 the Lord through His living Prophet decided Indonesia was ready to receive the gospel. On the 24th of October Elder Ezra Taft Benson, Elder Bruce R. McConkie, President W. Brent Hardy ( Far East/Hong Kong-Taiwan Mission) President G Carlos Smith Jr. (South East Asia Mission) and others arrived in Indonesia.  After meeting with officials of the Indonesian Government members of the Twelve and group gathered on Sunday Ocotober 26, 1969 at the site known as Mega Mendung to dedicate Indonesia as a field where the work of the Lord would be performed.  Elder Bruce R McConkie conducted the meeting.  he said “We shall still face challenges and difficulties…nevertheless, amidst all these, the work will move forward and flourish here and everywhere until the knowledge about God will cover the face of the earth very much like water filling up the oceans. Pres. Hardy stated “The work in Indonesia won’t be easy, but the work will succeed because this is God’s work”.

We read the “Dedicatory Prayer For the Land of Indonesia” as a mission and it was uplifting to all of us.

When Robert was 19 he received a Call to Serve in the “South East Asia Mission”. The 4 missionaries from Canada were denied Visas. Robert then served in Central California Mission.   G. Carlos Smith would have been his Mission President.  We now are assigned and serving together in the land of Indonesia.

TRUTH FOR EVERMORE   Randy Morris  Jakarta Indonesia Mission Song
Our Mission Song is cheerful and inspirational as we all sing together. Serving requires Christlike Attributes of Patience, Humility, Diligence, and Obedience. We strive to be Christlike missionaries, not just do missionary things.

“Indonesia Isles of the Sea Blessings are in store! The darkness has been lifted never to return.  Truth for Evermore!!” We are so blessed to be able to serve in this great country of Indonesia.”
