In 1969 the Lord through His living Prophet decided Indonesia was ready to receive the gospel. On the 24th of October Elder Ezra Taft Benson, Elder Bruce R. McConkie, President W. Brent Hardy ( Far East/Hong Kong-Taiwan Mission) President G Carlos Smith Jr. (South East Asia Mission) and others arrived in Indonesia. After meeting with officials of the Indonesian Government members of the Twelve and group gathered on Sunday Ocotober 26, 1969 at the site known as Mega Mendung to dedicate Indonesia as a field where the work of the Lord would be performed. Elder Bruce R McConkie conducted the meeting. he said “We shall still face challenges and difficulties…nevertheless, amidst all these, the work will move forward and flourish here and everywhere until the knowledge about God will cover the face of the earth very much like water filling up the oceans. Pres. Hardy stated “The work in Indonesia won’t be easy, but the work will succeed because this is God’s work”.
We read the “Dedicatory Prayer For the Land of Indonesia” as a mission and it was uplifting to all of us.
When Robert was 19 he received a Call to Serve in the “South East Asia Mission”. The 4 missionaries from Canada were denied Visas. Robert then served in Central California Mission. G. Carlos Smith would have been his Mission President. We now are assigned and serving together in the land of Indonesia.
TRUTH FOR EVERMORE Randy Morris Jakarta Indonesia Mission Song
Our Mission Song is cheerful and inspirational as we all sing together. Serving requires Christlike Attributes of Patience, Humility, Diligence, and Obedience. We strive to be Christlike missionaries, not just do missionary things.
“Indonesia Isles of the Sea Blessings are in store! The darkness has been lifted never to return. Truth for Evermore!!” We are so blessed to be able to serve in this great country of Indonesia.”
